Jockey Club Racecourses has announced the appointment of Liam Johnson as new General Manager of its Huntingdon Racecourse. He has been a trainee general manager at the Group for the last 18 months, having initially joined JCR as Business Development Executive at Nottingham Racecourse in 2014.
Amy Starkey, East Regional Director, Jockey Club Racecourses, said:
We are delighted to appoint Liam Johnson as the new General Manager of Huntingdon Racecourse. An essential part of The Jockey Club fulfilling its mission to act for the long-term good of British racing is to help to keep developing the next generation of talent. Liam, who has reported to me during his traineeship, falls into that category having impressed us with his drive and commitment since joining the Group.
Liam Johnson said:
I’m very pleased to have been given this opportunity at Huntingdon Racecourse by The Jockey Club. I have worked hard over the last 18 months as a trainee general manager to develop the skill set in order to step up into a full General Manager role. I am looking forward to working with the team at Huntingdon as well as in the East Region of JCR.
Jump racing resumes at Huntingdon Racecourse with the Family Funday on Sunday, 2nd October, after the traditional summer break.
